Baking Cookies!

Tessa will always be the first to ask, "Can I help you?" when we are cooking or baking in the kitchen. Watch out Gordon Ramsey!

This particular day I was baking her birthday cookies and she made her own cookies with the left over cookie dough.

Tessa and her cookie tiara.

These ended up being her very yummy birthday cookies.

Peggy's Cove

On the weekends, when it is not raining we try to make a point to visit and become familiar with our new surroundings. This particular weekend we decided to discover Peggy's Cove. We did not make it to the end of the Cove but we did stop to see the area whereby the Swissair Flight had crashed in 1998.
Despite the fact that this terrible tragedy occurred, the area to commemorate the people that perished was beautifully adorned with monuments. The view out to the ocean was incredible and Tessa insisted we walk towards the water.

A visit from Kasha & her girls.

Back in July we had Kasha and her family spend the night at "Casa de Kruyff". They drove down from Montreal to NS for business and pleasure and decided to make a stop at our place for a little visit. I had not seen Kasha for over a decade thus never meeting her husband and two girls Lily and Anella.
Tess loved having them stay for a sleep over....nothing like having two older girls to follow around and look up to!

Tess and Lily drawing together....more like Lily drawing and Tessa ruining her picture but Lily did not care she loved having Tess around.

Gone Fishing!

Leave it to daddy to think of this great adventure! One day after going to the gym with Tess, Pat decides to take Tess to buy her very first fishing rod and gear. So after her nap we venture out to find a pier/wharf that would satisfy my husband in this fishing expedition. After driving, what felt like forever and close to becoming car sick with all the whindy roads we stop at a pleasant enough area. But would we be lucky enough to catch anything???? Sure enough we caught over a dozen little perch that we would throw back into the water after catching them...who knows if we kept on catching the same little one but nevertheless Tess had a great time.

Tessa Doolittle at Hatfield Farms!

Other than really missing her Nan and Aunties back in NB, Tess really missed the little Hobie farm she frequently would visit in Brunswick Nurseries. She loved the pigs she named Bob & Bob, the Alpacas Coffee & Cream, the cow and the horse. She spoke of them often and kinda sorta not really understanding why we cannot see them any longer.

Thank God we found a replacement farm in NS for our little Miss Doolittle.

One day after visiting the farm, Tess decided that for her Birthday she would like to have a horse but after explaining to her that we do not have a place to keep it she said OK then how about a cow. Gotta love her!

At the Cottage...just the girls!

A few weeks ago, Lexi invited Tess & I along with Jill & her 18 month old daughter Claire to her parents' cottage for a couple days. We had grand time!

Before leaving to the camp, Lexi could not believe how much Jill & I packed for a two day cottage outing...she thought we would all be able to fit in one vehicle...Jill & I laughed and said "Just wait Lexi, you will not believe all the extra stuff you need to pack when you have a kid." Needless to say even though we had an SUV and a wagon we still needed to take two vehicles to get to the camp.

Tess was so excited about going to the beach, all she would ask every 15 minutes was "are we there yet?", when finally she got a whiff of the sea air and said " I smell the beach, we're here!"

We all took turns cooking and we all ate very well! I do not know why, but I had never made Tess an egg salad sandwich but thanks to little Claire sharing her sandwich, Tess became a huge fan.

Jill & I enjoyed watching Lexi take care of the girls....notice picture above as Lexi babysits kids as Jill & I are nowhere in sight but on the beach sunbathing!
Tess really liked the idea of sleeping in the same bed with Mom at night, she really felt like a big girl as she is still sleeping in a crib. Mom was not a huge fan as she was always up soooo early, striking up a conversation at 5am where she usually is only getting up at 7:30am back home.

CC & Me

So, if you asked me what my favorite part of my trip was... I would say, "Going to Charlotte's park". Even though I am still in parallel play mode, I love being with older kids. It may have taken me awhile to warm up but by the end of my trip ( go figure), CC & I were walking hand in hand and I would follow her every move.

With CC's help and instruction, I eventually accomplished walking over the bridge all by myself! Thanks CC and by the way.....I wish you did not live sooooo far away! Miss you!
